VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION

THURSDAY OCTOBER 4, 2007

WE ARE A PATRIOTIC COMMUNITY AND ARE ESPECIALLY PROUD OF OUR VETERANS!

WE HAVE ASSEMBLED A NUMBER OF EVENTS TO HONOR VETERANS; AMONG THEM:

HOME TOWN WWII MUSEUM

The museum will feature World War II artifacts and souvenirs collected by area veterans

The museum will be located at the French Lick American Legion and will be open from 10:00AM to 5:00PM on our Veterans Day

REMEMBERING IWO JIMA

We are particularly fortunate to have Mr. Marion Frank Walker, a Marine Veteran and Iwo Jima survivor join us

Mr Walker will place his displays in our museum and will be available throughout the day to provide his special and unique perspective on Iwo Jima

An excellent narrative of Mr Walker's experience can be found at Remembering the Fight

PRESENTATION OF THE COLORS

French Lick American Legion Post 76 Color Guard will present the colors at 5:30PM

ARMY BAND CONCERT

The 113th US ARMY BAND will perform a special band concert on the lawn of the French Lick Hotel facing the French Lick Legion immediately following the Colors Ceremony. The Dragoons are the second oldest US Army band in our nation's history and have been in existence since 1840.
